Let the sunshine in !

 Today I am cleaning house and windows and trying to let  some of this beautfiul weather inside my home . Today has been a good day for me, I slept in , I had cup after cup of hot coffee outside by my fountain , started cleaning and organizing things , had lunch with my sweetie and now I can play on the computer ! It has been a busy couple of months and it is good to slow down a bit . I am reading a great book called  "1000 Gifts " and it is all about gratitude , seeing God's love for us in action . I decided to start my own list and will add on to it here on my blog . I hope your day has been fruitful and blessed , xxoo Suz

I am thankful for .............

1. the breeze blowing thru the leaves
2. groceries in the pantry
3. hot coffee with cream this morning
4. sleeping under a down blanket this morning

Things

                                           It has been a great Saturday , I have been milling around the house , major puttering going on . I have been trying to make all my mom's things work in with mine and make it Suzanne's . It is hard work because of so much emotion tied to things . It's like giving away Mama , I know thats not right but it is what it is . But lately I have come to accept that she is not in these things , not at all . She is in the daylilies that she gave me that are blooming up a storm , she is in the way I love my home and love to play house , she is in my love for family and to do the right thing , she is in the way that I have learned to love the Lord with all my heart . So , today I started getting rid of just " things " and I thank the Lord above for the mama that I had and will see again one day . These are my milling around pics . God bless, Suz

 

the roost

You found me ! I've been hiding out here at home as often as I can . This is my library where I have my first sip  of coffee every day , where I peruse magazines and good books , and I have my daily devotional . It's quiet and cozy and when I go missing , this is the first place my pup and hubby find me . When I was growing up here , this was the rarely used living room , lovely but not very inviting .  My friends tease me and tell me it looks like I've moved to the beach , all my Florida art and seashells ,etc . I guess I brought Appalachicola to Bramble Hill instead . I hope you all are staying warm , here at the beach ...... I'm just fine and dandy . God bless you this week . Much love , Suz

wondering and wandering

                  Do you ever wonder when you pass by a house , what is life like in that home ,? Is it full of laughing , songs , good smells coming from the kitchen ? Is it a home where sadness and loneliness live , unwanted but present ? I think about that , some houses look loved , that is what makes it a home in my opinion , the evidence of a life in progress . It's everything from the books on the nightstand to the sweet smelling soap in the bath that tell where you are . As well as the pictures on the table , the chewed up toy that takes precedent in the only comfortable chair , the Bible out and ready to be read , sewing sitting in a basket waiting for a few free moments in the day . I am grateful to be where I am in this life , it is not worry free but it is the only one I've got and I plan on being present in it . Have a blessed week , don't forget to thank the Creator and his Son for for all that has been done for you . xxoo Suz

baby its cold outside !

                           I don't want to get up ! It's cold outside here in northwest Florida . I think I'll just stay in the bed , have a cup of coffee or two while I catch up on some reading . Maybe I'll plug in a Nick and Nora movie ( the hubby loves the oldies too ) ! Or I could get out that  new book on simplifying our lives that I threw in the already full magazine basket ...... what to do , what to do ....... ? Maybe I should finish one of the several quilting projects that are happening in the craft room ..... maybe not . That is the deliciousness of a day off , the possibilities . Maybe I'll roll over and dream a little more , hope your day is wonderful too.xxoo Susanne

spring cleaning ?

I have spent too many cold days inside, I've started spring cleaning....a little early ! Airing out the down comforters in the clean , crisp air , I even lay out the pillows and let them sit in the sun for awhile. I guess I want to snuggle in but bring fresh air and sunshine in. Don't you miss clotheslines ? There is just something wonderful about sheets that have been airing, they are crispy , but I like that . I have a wonderful sheet spray that is called Beach Home that reminds me of vacations and that salty sea spray smell of waking up at the coast . Oh boy, I feel a trip to the coast coming on! Well I have more rooms to go and miles to go before I sleep. Have a wonderfully blessed day! xxxooo Susanne
